The Grand Chute Police Department Property and Evidence Section is staffed by two full-time civilian employees. The agency has also hosted several Forensic Science student interns.
The Property and Evidence Section is responsible for maintaining the integrity of evidence and chain of custody of all property that comes into their possession in accordance with state laws, municipal code, and departmental policies and procedures.
Under the direction of the Technical Operations Division Commander, Property and Evidence Section personnel are responsible for receiving, storing, releasing, and maintaining the security of a wide variety of items. They have extensive training in the collection, preservation, and management of property and evidence. They are often actively involved in processing crime scenes and assisting with the execution of search warrants for major case investigations.
The Property and Evidence Section’s general office hours are Monday – Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, excluding holidays and weekends.
