There may be serious consequences if you fail to follow the court's orders or pay your forfeiture.
Failure to pay the forfeiture by the due date may result in the court suspending your driving privilege, issuing a commitment order requiring you to serve time in jail, referring the matter to Tax Intercept or State Debt Collection, pursuant to §71.93(8), Wis. Stat. A delinquent collection fee of 15% of the unpaid balance or $35.00, whichever is greater, will be added to the account if sent to State Debt Collection.
If you cannot pay the forfeiture due to poverty you may request a hearing for poverty determination. |
