Property Tax Information

Outagamie County mails Grand Chute's property tax bills before the 3rd Monday in December.

USPS POLICY CHANGE IMPACTING PROPERTY TAX PAYMENTS

The Outagamie County Treasurer is warning residents who pay property tax bills by mail about a U.S. Postal Service policy change that will affect when payment envelopes are postmarked.

The USPS instituted a nationwide change for when postmarks are affixed to incoming mail.  Instead of postmarks being stamped when the items are first handled by the postal service, postmarks are now applied at the regional sorting centers.  That means your postmark could be several days after you put the payment in the mailbox.

When receipting your tax payment, the Town will enter the postmark date as the payment date.  If you pay your property taxes by mail, DO NOT wait until right before the deadline to put it in the mail.  Wisconsin statute defines a timely payment based off postmark and all Treasurers abide by these guidelines.

Please note ALL of the payment options outlined on your tax bill, including paying online 24/7.  A receipt is emailed to you when you submit your online payment.  Interest is not waived once a payment is considered delinquent.  Also, once your first installment is considered delinquent, your deferred 2nd installment payment option is forfeited and the entire tax bill becomes due with interest accruing monthly on the entire remaining balance until paid in full.

Also note:  as indicated on your tax bill, your 1st installment payment due by January 31st is always due to the Town of Grand Chute.  Do not mail or drop off at Outagamie County.

Real Estate Taxes:

Taxpayers have the option of paying their tax bill in full, or paying in two installments. If you elect to pay your taxes in full, payment is due to the Town by January 31, 2026. Should you choose to pay your taxes in two installments, the first installment is due to the Town of Grand Chute by January 31, 2026, and the second installment is payable directly to Outagamie County by July 31, 2026.

Note: Failure to pay at least the first installment, including any special charges or assessments, by the specified due date will result in the entire outstanding balance becoming due and interest and penalties will accrue until paid in full.

Personal Property Taxes:

Per WI Act 12, Personal Property Taxes are no longer being levied starting with the 2024 (collectible 2025) year. Previous year's personal property taxes are still valid.
