Calendar > 2026 Citizens' Public Safety Academy Applications Due!
Date: Mar. 20, 2026 Time: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Seats: 20
Applications are now open for the 2026 Citizens’ Public Safety Academy!
The Citizens’ Public Safety Academy offers a glimpse into the lives of police officers and firefighters through tours, presentations, and interactive activities. The academy was created to provide a working knowledge of the policies, procedures, and practices of the Grand Chute Police and Fire Departments.
The academy is held annually between April and May. The academy is free of charge and open to all citizens who are at least 17 years old. Background checks will be completed before being accepted into the academy. We enroll up to 20 people on a first-come, first-served basis. If we do not have room for all interested participants, you will be placed on a waiting list for next year’s academy.
This year’s academy will run for eight weeks, beginning April 1, 2026, and will be held every Wednesday evening from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., concluding on May 20, 2026.
Participants will gain a behind-the-scenes look at public safety operations through a wide range of hands-on topics, including police and fire department overviews and equipment tours; traffic stops; K-9 operations; emergency medical services; crime scene investigation; structure fires; use-of-force training; and more.
Application materials are available here. Alternatively, applications may be picked up from the Grand Chute Police Department or Grand Chute Fire Station One. Applications may be mailed, dropped off, or emailed to Community Resource Officer Dylan Davis of the Grand Chute Police Department. Completed applications must be submitted no later than Friday, March 20, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. |
