Calendar > Notice of Quorum - Jesse Picket Family Safety Day
Date: Sept. 6, 2025 Time: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
On the first Saturday after Labor Day each September, the Grand Chute Fire Department hosts the Annual Jesse Pickett Family Safety Day at Fire Station One. This event showcases the services of more than 25 partnering safety- and health-related organizations and agencies from throughout the Fox Valley for over 2,000 community attendees. Numerous demonstrations are conducted including a medical helicopter landing, vehicle extrication using the "Jaws of Life", and a live fire burn demonstration to educate on how fire moves in a home. This community gathering, which aims to educate the public on a broad scope of safety-related topics, is held in honor of Fire Prevention Specialist Jesse Pickett, who tragically lost his life in a car accident in December, 2013. It serves to memorialize his diligent efforts to reduce the loss of life from fires in our community.
